Hundreds of Mexican citizens were killed by these weapons. A U.S. Border Patrol agent was also murdered, and not one person has had to pay a penalty for the idiotic and badly administrated program. A new report has even more bad news for the administration. The guns didn’t just stay in Mexico, they traveled beyond the Mexican borders.
One of the guns used in the November 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks came from Phoenix, Arizona where the Obama administration allowed criminals to buy thousands of weapons illegally in a deadly and futile “gun-walking” operation known as “Fast and Furious.”
A Report of Investigation (ROI) filed by a case agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tracked the gun used in the Paris attacks to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, “off book,” Judicial Watch’s law enforcement sources confirm. Federal agents tracing the firearm also found the Phoenix gun owner to be in possession of an unregistered fully automatic weapon, according to law enforcement officials with firsthand knowledge of the investigation.
The investigative follow up of the Paris weapon consisted of tracking a paper trail using a 4473 form, which documents a gun’s ownership history by, among other things, using serial numbers. The Phoenix gun owner that the weapon was traced back to was found to have at least two federal firearms violations—for selling one weapon illegally and possessing an unregistered automatic—but no enforcement or prosecutorial action was taken against the individual. Instead, ATF leaders went out of their way to keep the information under the radar and ensure that the gun owner’s identity was “kept quiet,” according to law enforcement sources involved with the case. “Agents were told, in the process of taking the fully auto, not to anger the seller to prevent him from going public,” a veteran law enforcement official told Judicial Watch.
The lawless Justice Department and the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agency under the department truly dropped the ball. There is no doubt the scheme was undertaken with approval and direction from the White House. Subsequent followup of some of the weapons that were tracked down later shows that they were designated as “violent recoveries,” meaning they were used in several mass killings. And shockingly, the program still exists, with weapons are being delivered to multiple countries beyond Mexico, including such things as grenades, grenade launchers, and military night vision goggles in addition to rifles and other guns.
Whose side is Obama on?
The Obama administration has undertaken a host of programs that have been disastrous for this country, from a failed health care program, to the complete botching of international relations with our allies throughout the world. So it comes as no surprise that the Fast and Furious program was ill-conceived, spun out of control, led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent people, was a diplomatic disaster, and is now continuing despite its illegality and lack of any kind of oversight. It truly is representative of the Obama administration in general. And sadly, no one ever pays the price for gross incompetence except the people of this country.

So if Obama is a traitor, then so was Bush.
A program similar to Fast and Furious did go forward under the Bush administration in 2006 and 2007. That program, called Operation Wide Receiver, also attempted to track suspicious weapons. Allowing gun sales to go forward even when the ATF had probable cause to believe the sales were unlawful has come to be known as “gun walking.”
The two operations — Fast and Furious and Wide Receiver — had some similarities, and both were run out of the ATF’s Phoenix Field Division. The inspector general explored both programs in depth and found similar problems.
