Fast and Furious: DOJ Documents Reveal Rampant use of Weapons by Mexican Drug Cartels

The Justice Department has finally released additional documents regarding “Fast and Furious,” the gun running program conducted by the Justice Department and the ATF, with the goal of arming criminals and gang members with high powered, deadly weapons in an effort to track the weapons back to the leaders of the criminals. What could possibly go wrong? Actually, a great deal went wrong, and the government agencies lost track of a large percentage of the weapons, many of which were used in crimes that led to hundreds of murders.

Eric Holder, Attorney General at the time of the program, refused to provide Congress with documents showing how the program worked and with internal communication, and he was ultimately held in contempt of Congress, though as is always the case, he never paid an actual price for his actions, and he is now enjoying a comfortable retirement away from the Obama administration.

The actual results of the program are shocking and should be a huge national embarrassment, though it seems that the Obama administration is incapable of such a sentiment.
