FEMA Solicitations for Purchase Of Unusual Items Raises Concerns

FEMA is soliciting for contractors who can, within 24-48 hours, supply medical bio-hazard disposable supplies capable of supporting 1000 tent hospitals.

Is this anticipation of an H7N9 pandemic or a worsening of the H1N1 epidemic? Something else?

Also, add in the purchase of of 1.6 billion rounds of ammo, thousands of rifles, 240,000 pepper spray projectiles and other items by Homeland Security, and the addition of war machines from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars onto American streets we’ve seen lately can make one quite uneasy!
