Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

I feel dumber for having watched this! I cannot believe how bad people blow things out of proportion. Walmart has security cameras everywhere and have had for years. So they have a camera that can get a clear view of your face now. Geez! Don’t do something stupid like try to walk out without paying for your brand new 60″ 4K TV or use someone’s credit card without their knowledge and I’d say you’d have NOTHING to worry about.

There have been cameras looking down on you built into the sliding door sensors for years. Also these little things called jamb cams on the sides of the entrance doors.
they have been doing this for a long time now just so ya know. If it freaks you out, don’t go there. Simple enough.
You’ve sat in a Walmart loss prevention office? Man those cameras are far from low quality for what they are used for lol. I’ve seen those guys watch vehicles leave the store and still follow a few blocks. Or being able to see into purses and backpacks. Yeah real low quality lol

I love how people think the camera is capable of all that. It’s the DVR and $#%&!@*ytical software that does the recognizing, tracking, motion detection, event $#%&!@*yzing, counting, and comparing. The better and more features, the more expensive the software is. Besides, that camera would work better if it didn’t have the pink packing foam over the lens.
Does this mean the government is going to know I shop at WalMart?!?! I better start wearing my good pajamas then.
