Russia’s campaign in Syria is once again grabbing headlines as reports are coming in from Moscow, claiming that they’ve hit 40 ISIS targets in the past 24 hours thanks to the deployment of Russian fighter jets and the TOS-1A weapon system.
The mobile rocket launcher, or TOS-1A, is a thermobaric weapon that can destroy eight city blocks in one strike. The thermobaric warheads attached spread a flammable liquid around a target and then ignites, causing massive devastation.
Photographs taken this past week, show that at least one of these weapons is being used by govnerment forces in Syria. You won’t believe some of the damage it can cause.

I thought flame throwers had been outlawed by world leaders for warfare?
They look more like rocket launchers of some sort.
I am waiting for the reaction when ISIS takes out a few of these vehicles. They may be very effective against women and children but cannot stand up to tanks and land mines.

Yeah, but it’s lobbing a type of napalm (fire propellant) and shrapnel to a targeted area. Lots of fire, burning, and metal flying around all at the same time. If you don’t die from the shrapnel, or fire, you suffocate because the fire sucks all the oxygen out of the air and if you try to breath the fire goes into your lungs and flash fries them.
With the Russians killing “everybody” in the way, you can bet there won’t be any news media embedded with their troops except maybe RT whom they own.
