“I can’t answer what a local police force would use a bayonet for,” Alan Estevez said.

Rand Paul is completely correct, of course, that there is no need for bayonets in local law enforcement. Bayonets are for hand-to-hand combat in battle and the only purpose is to kill.

Yeah, there’s a lot of hand to hand combat in police work. Tasers and pepper spray aren’t enough. Police need to gut these jaywalkers and drunks. These bayonets are a godsend.

Rand, if you live in my small rural town that has a population of 600 and 350 of those have been brought in here on work permit’s from Somolia, Mexico, and other countries you would get a little uptight also. I no longer know my neighbor and I no longer hear English !! We live in a very nervous America !!
Not for or against, not enough info, BUT, they are the 1st line of defense if we get attacked. Obummer down sizing the military and defunding the Nat’l Guard, Keep your eyes open.
