Rand Paul is completely correct, of course, that there is no need for bayonets in local law enforcement. Bayonets are for hand-to-hand combat in battle and the only purpose is to kill.

I am reading The Hunger Games trilogy. There are some interesting parallels between the theme of the books and what is happening now. I hope folks wake up, but I have no dog in this fight. If people want to turn their backs on it because it just isn’t comfortable to watch, and it is easier to live in a comfortable little world, that is their choice. The Buddhist in my soul will not allow me to buy into any of this. Reality will not dictate my response to life. Inner peace in the final stage of this life is my own chosen path. It isn’t my problem.
