Rand Paul is completely correct, of course, that there is no need for bayonets in local law enforcement. Bayonets are for hand-to-hand combat in battle and the only purpose is to kill.

Well when you have a federal government who allows invaders to come through our southern border, when you have some of those people who come here illegally and do violent crimes and in turn is released back into the public by a government who is required by law to protect this nation and it’s people, then someone has to have the weapons to fight back to protect our butts. When the c**p hits the fan, you’re going to want someone to take care of the issue at hand.
I have news for the police. If you keep insisting on getting military grade weaponry to ‘control’ civilians, you should remember that there are a HUGE number of civilians that still have brains. The brain is the most dangerous weapon ever wielded by man. If you think your military grade weapons can control the populace, you’ll find you have been very sadly mistaken. Anyone with half a brain, one wooden ruler, 3 paper clips, some scotch tape, a couple of unsharpened pencils, and a couple of rubber bands can make a weapon you will never even recognize as a weapon until it’s to late for you. Wake the heck up! You policemen and policewomen are NOT supposed to be doing a job of terrorizing your neighborhoods–your job is to uphold the peace, grant aid and succor to those in need, perform a PUBLIC SERVICE, and ALWAYS maintain honor! ! !
