Outrage over Black Gorilla Killed for ‘White Privilege’

There are folks who decry the stupid, irresponsible parents who allowed Isaiah to climb into the gorilla cage, and claim that the death of the gorilla was completely unnecessary.

Well I do too. Especially when you realize – at least by some accounts – that the gorilla was actually trying to protect the child not kill it.

But I don’t think in the outrage stakes any of us can quite compete with the angry black people in social media forums who have been blaming the incident on entrenched white privilege. Two of the many comments made on Twitter state:

“That gorilla was taken from it’s homeland, put in captivity, and then killed to preserve White life. That sounds familiar.”

“Killing an endangered gorilla at a zoo for a white boy’s safety is white privilege. If the boy was black they would’ve found a tranquilizer.”

That gorilla was from Africa, and so you could say he was a black, unarmed teenager. That is enough to set the Black Lives Matter crew off, crying racism and more. There is a problem, and it is ironic, because after all the Twitter feeds lambasting the idiotic parents and saying that if it had been a black child, they would not have killed Harambe, it turned out that… Isaiah is an African American little boy, and his “idiot” parents are an African American mother and father.

“White Privilege” has been been bandied about as if it is undeniably true. It is not. In fact, it seems that unlike almost all other ethnicities in the United States, the life span of white males is decreasing. And both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are battling each other over who can promise the Black Lives Matter thugs more goodies.

Reality makes little difference to this crowd, be it Hillary, Bernie, or the Black Lives Matter crazies, they all see racism wherever they look. And that includes in the shooting of Harumbe the African gorilla.
