It’s been an ugly campaign, and as we move into the final couple of weeks, it promises only to get worse. Not only are the candidates locked into a battle as vicious as any in memory, with nothing less than the composition of the US Supreme Court and the conduct of foreign wars at stake, but the participation of groups outside the campaigns such as WikiLeaks have had a profound impact.
Some of these actors have been hired by the campaigns, such as the Clinton campaign retaining activist groups to incite violence at Trump rallies. Others such as WikiLeaks and James O’Keefe have worked without apparent relationship to either campaign.
The incredible information gained from the emails dumped on the internet that were sent among Hillary, DNC officials, and various staffers during her time at the State Department and during her campaign have been devastating. So, too, have been the videos released by James O’Keefe.
