Obama Frees Yet Another High Risk Terrorist

Gitmo detainees return to a life of terrorism and Obama knows it, yet he continues his irresponsible practice of releasing “high risk” detainees back to their countries of origin.  Despite the fact that the “State Department is now offering a cash reward of $5 million for info on the whereabouts of former Guantanamo Bay detainee, Ibrahim al-Rubaysh” reported Truth and Action, Obama still lets these evil men go.

For Commander Kirk Lippold, a 41-year-old commander in October 2000, the memory of that morning is still fresh in his mind.

“We had pulled in on a beautiful, hot day for a brief stop for fuel,” the 57-year-old Lippold recalled, saying he expected to be in port for six to eight hours.

Forty-five minutes later, at 11:18 a.m., there was a “thunderous explosion” that violently thrust the ship up to the right, Lippold said.

“I knew instantly something had come along our left-hand side and exploded,” he said. “We were fighting for our lives to keep the ship afloat.”

“The crew responded as true heroes, exactly as they were trained.”

For Obama, the only skin in the game is his campaign promise.  The soldiers who died that day are merely ghosts to this administration, but the detainees at Gitmo are who they champion.   The release  and transfer of Al Sabri’s  to a Saudi rehabilitation program is not the justice that the dead American soldiers deserve.

Lippold  said,  “I would have liked to have seen him receive a military commission where he was tried, convicted and sentenced and then his suitability for release determined under the laws of armed conflict.  From the perspective of the American people and my crew, he’s never been held accountable.”

This administration has not represented the American soldier or citizen but rather has championed the enemy.

Despite years of smearing soldiers with accusations of torture and outlawing waterboarding, the Obama administration was not feeling apologetic enough so it started releasing the actual prisoners from Gitmo. These were battlefield captured prisoners of war, so imagine the administration’s surprise when many of them started showing up in the combat zone again, Truth and Action wrote.

After the first of these incidents, what followed was a series of apologies for our treatment of the Jihadists arrested in Afghanistan and Iraq and there was a short backlash when conservatives said letting enemy combatants go was a bad idea. The detractors were told they were un-American and these were new days where the terrorists will be nice and leave us alone.

More detainees, returned to their homelands have ended up again, fighting against America. Maj. Gen. Jay Hood, who once oversaw operations at Guantanamo said:

“If history is a guide, we can expect to see some number of them back in the fight soon,” he said. “As a group, the Yemenis held at GTMO represented the most committed and violent of the Islamic extremist in US custody.”

Re-evaluting Gitmo detainees and down-playing their crimes is what helps Obama sleep at night as he releases “high level” terrorists, who hate America back into the public. However, in order to fulfill his campaign promise and go down in history as the President who closed Gitmo is all that matters to Obama.  History will remember Obama, but not for the reasons he fantasizes about.
