Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

How many miles of coastline does California have? They cant find a way to convert salt water to fresh water with the billions they give to illegal Mexicans. They didnt listen to warning. before the big fire either.
And the solution is: high speed rail? California is whacked. Desalination is expensive, but if you’re going to throw money around, how about actually getting something for it?
Cost, mainly.
kind of what i thought. of co$#%&!@* once they run out , be surprised what folks would pay for water.
FYI, No room for far left liberals in Texas…
Sad that we have these problems when 70% of the earth’s surface is covered with the stuff.
As of to date. Desilination machines can not provide drinkable water. They just tested a state of the art machine on the air craft carrier that was just in port and the water is briny and will dehydrate you if its your sole source. Might be able to water some plants or fill a pool or even take a shower but I wouldn’t drink it.
Darn-it!
What a crock of $#%&!@*. Speaking of $#%&!@*, it comes every time it needs to come. One of those pictures depict $#%&!@*, the other doesn’t.
