Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.
MOVE TO PAGE 2:.

Humans can’t live without water, it would be number one priority to me, More important than money or cost. Water is important to the neighboring states too. California could be selling water instead of mooching from neighbors.
Typical American Christian….deny science and pray to God. Yeah that’ll do something won’t it. Conservatives believe satellite data on liquid water m$#%&!@* but not glacial m$#%&!@*. Get a clue

See you all stopped replying because I caught you. You can not deny any more what is happening. Hiding behind a bible and your personal views won’t stop actual science from forming a fact. Not a hypothesis. You guys are so blind to what is actually happening. That I’m surprised you don’t forget to breath. You back you’re arguments up with non factual studies by people who have no business making “hypothesis.” That’s all this is. That’s all everything is until it can be mathematically proved. The world is messed up. People are messed up. And you people keep holding us back actual facts and bringing conspiracy theories into facts. I believe in many things and have study many religions. And science is the most logical course. We as a people need to stop denying what is going on. Talking with people who deny facts is like talking with a wall. Both my parents are scientists. And they have both seen the impact of human development in our water in our wild life. I’ve seen it in my short life span of 32 years. It’s undeniable proof. What happens to this world. We are paying ourselves back. Adam Royce Sonnet if they wanted population control and world $#%&!@* and mind control. What’s holding them back. Why is the right wing supporting anti abortion laws. Because you are all on some wild crusade. With God app in you’re flag. And that flag is stained with the blood of millions over religion. Science and logic our are only defining factors that made us survive. Not divine intervention.
Come on people. I originate from the East coast (live in CA) but don’t worry, Jerry Brown’s bullet train will fix everything.
Paddy, I’m not having a religion vs science discussion in this forum, I’m just saying that if global warming is the factor for California’s water drought, then why didn’t this governor and those in charge who’ve had many years to figure this out, do anything to prevent it knowing it was eventually going to happen?
Global warming is the scientific excuse for their stupidity in my opinion. It’s their cloak to screw everyone over.
CA is a desert and always has been. That’s why we shouldn’t have created an agricultural nightmare here. Bad planning is all. This area has great soil. But no water. We don’t have water. Norther CA us know for having lots of moisture and that’s going away too.
Secondly, many scientists have falsified data, fabricated, came up with false conclusions and created hoaxes in history to try and prove their theory or make a name for themselves as a discoverer. So you can’t trust all science blindly, otherwise we’d still believe in a flat earth..lol.
I’m goes way back to the 30s we are creating a dust bowl. We $#%&!@*ed up pure and simple.
Well you shouldn’t believe in religion blindly. Those who wish not to see, cloud themselves in religious beliefs.
