Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

Here’s a great water conservation tool.

I heard about this a few years back
Hey its another thinks Obama moment for not allowing the California growers to water their crops out of that river or any river with a tiny little fish in it.
Remember Enron? The grid disruption had nothing to do with lack of power and everything to do with price manipulation. They were causing false shortages and charging California a premium for electricity. This was with the encouragement of Cheney who wanted to punish California for voting for Gore instead of Bush.
Because reverse osmosis cost a ton of money. I would say it’s a better investment than bullet trains though.
I don’t use any of that stuff.
We eat meat here in Oklahoma. 🙂
Not the drought. Cutting off the water from the north. Cali built a m$#%&!@*ive irrigation system during the great depression. The federal government owned it. Obama diverted the water in 2011 to run out to the ocean and deny it to the farmers.
Better get a bunch of desalination plants up and running!!
You are a special kind of stupid aren’t you
