Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”

California has been dry for a long time. Only recently have I seen it rain more than I have in a long time. However the state should have either made desalinization plants, reservoirs, and figured out a way to have a reserve of water in case of a serious drought. We live next to one of the largest and bodies of water on the planet, you’d think we’d figure out a way to utilize the seawater for things.
I also agree that we shouldn’t believe in a religion blindly either.
Oh my $#%&!@*ing God. Dude. Turning slat water to drinkable water is insanely expensive and is an incredibly long process. It’s not possible yet. We don’t have the science to do it. My mom is a water chemist. Dude do you know what that means??
