Cantankerous Arizona Senator John McCain hasn’t mellowed at all after his diagnosis of brain cancer following removal of a tumor.
The 81-year old has been a persistent thorn in the side of President Donald Trump, even since the president was still a candidate working for the Republican nomination. McCain has steadfastly tried to distinguish the GOP as a party with separate values from those of Trump.
McCain keeps up his steady drumbeat of anti-Trump rhetoric, knowing the mainstream media will provide him with a megaphone any time he seeks one.
On Thursday, the self-styled maverick provided an op-ed to the Washington Post that continued to stake out his position vis-à-vis the president.

I am not a fan of John McCain and really question his ability to represent anyone, including himself, at this time. But, he’s right in this. Constitutionally speaking the President is not above Congress and neither House of Congress is subordinate to the President. As a matter of fact, the Executive Branch has less authority than the Legislative Branch. We have a bassackward knowledge of how our Representative Republic is supposed to work. It’s the House of Representatives that is supposed to have the greatest authority because it’s supposed to have a closer relationship with the the true authority, WeThePeople, than the others. ABOVE any of the 3 Federal branches of Government are the Governments of the individual Sovereign States Governments. And ABOVE them is the County Sheriff and then WeThePeople. If indeed, the Federal Government is the highest authority and The President is the head of our Country, that makes the Constitution mute, and WeThePeople, the creators of this Union, subordinate to the creation and we now live in the same form of Government our ancestors fled. Welcome to the Imperial Kingdom of America!
