The restaurant Sneakers Bistro in Local Winooski, Vermont has removed a sign that had the word ‘bacon’ due to Muslim opposition.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant issued the following statement, ““We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety (emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”
Is the ‘safety’ factor the restaurant cited due to their fear of what would happen if they didn’t remove ‘bacon’ from their sign?

Let me ask a question! If I were visiting their country and something offended my religion or me would they be as considerate to take it down, remove it or apologize????? I strongly doubt it. Our government needs to grow a pair! This great country was founded on Religion and peoples rights to worship as they pleased, not to allow just one religion or culture to dictate to the masses. If they don’t like our country they can leave anytime no one is holding them hostage. They complain, they argue, they make rude comments and expect us to lie down and roll over….I think not!!!!!!!. This post is nothing but “hate mongering”, plain and simple, nothing else. The restaurant’s decision to remove the sign was a business decision, plain and simple, nothing else! You even quote the business owner saying “it was not a difficult decision”. I live here and there is no sharia law. All this artificial “outrage” is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with this country! Is Vermont under shria law not. Freedom of speech, of expression, freedom of thought no longer because people are offended if you dare go against.
