The restaurant Sneakers Bistro in Local Winooski, Vermont has removed a sign that had the word ‘bacon’ due to Muslim opposition.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant issued the following statement, ““We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety (emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”
Is the ‘safety’ factor the restaurant cited due to their fear of what would happen if they didn’t remove ‘bacon’ from their sign?

I’m not disagreeing about the sign, Henrietta. I don’t think it should’ve ever been taken down. This is obstruction of our freedom to press. As for this country being christian, i don’t believe that’s what it is or what it should be when we all have the freedom to believe whatever the hell we want. Another beautiful freedom of this country but you do not take this freedom and impose on others freedom based on your beliefs. It completely defeats the purpose…. that goes for every damn religion, muslim, christianity, jewish…. i don’t care. Your personal faith is yours and should be kept to yourselves, not dictating a country of freedom. It’s hypocritical.
