It seems like Pope Francis is determined to see that his papacy is marked by an extraordinary level of controversy, much of it generated by him within the Catholic Church itself. While the Christian faith is no stranger to theological disputes since its inception 2,000 years ago, some periods have obviously been marked by more vigorous debates than others, much to the regret of devoted adherents to the Faith.
Yet Pope Francis doesn’t seem to be troubled by being the center of some very divisive disputes, or the fact that he is the one who has created them.
He has taken a strong position in favor of open immigration, and has made statements on theology that are in direct opposition to historic Christian doctrine such as his proclamation that all religions worship the same god.
He recently took a very charitable and supportive position on Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro, an avowed atheist, who just died.
But this time he may have really done it. See page two.

Susan RL Lewis Kind of the problem with the whole “church” hierarchy in the first place, from the beginning. Catholic doctrine has often clashed with what Jesus and His Bible taught in many areas. This pope is par for the course, not some great enemy of the catholic “church”.
So in other words, a run of the mill pope?
That kind of applies tot he whole office of pope, if you want to truly bring Biblically into it.

Thank you for admitting that last part. So many think Allah and Yahweh are the same, when there are so many easy to spot difference.
No pope was ever true in the first place. Good for you for leaving, but please realize they were all false prophets from the get go, some just less obvious than others.
The Bible never directly mentions ANY pope. But it does speak of false teachers and prophets and many lesser antichrists (Vicar and Anti have spookily similar meanings….).
Than your problem is not founded in reality, as Jesus did not only teach love, He taught to hate evil. And He hated lies, and much of what this pope teaches, he does not truly practice. he also is a wretched man who places himself as God.
All popes betray Jesus by the act of being popes as it is….
