Washington is by nature a battleground. With the amount of power our central government possesses, it would be a surprise if it were otherwise. We also have a president who deals with opponents from a position of strength as opposed to cowardice disguised as politeness.
Joe Biden and President Trump have been trading verbal jabs since 2016. But now exchanges have become even more intense.
President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are in a rhetorical smackdown over who could clean the other’s clock in a brawl.

At the University of Miami on Tuesday, Biden cited lewd comments the Republican president made in a 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape about grabbing women without their permission.
“If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him,” said Biden, a Democrat. He also said any man who disrespected women was “usually the fattest, ugliest S.O.B. in the room.”
Nothing Biden said addressed the president’s policies, but that’s not “Crazy Joe’s” goal. He is there to rally the Democratic faithful, and a tough-sounding remark was just what was needed, so Mr. Biden must have thought.
Anyway, here is President Trump’s response, via Twitter as expected:
Crazy Joe Biden is trying to act like a tough guy. Actually, he is weak, both mentally and physically, and yet he threatens me, for the second time, with physical assault. He doesn’t know me, but he would go down fast and hard, crying all the way. Don’t threaten people Joe!

This sort of “tough-talk” is nothing new. Clinton confidant and Democratic operative McAullife have made similar remarks. What is new is the intensity and the willingness of President Trump to respond to aggression with even more aggressive remarks.
While it is certain we are not going to see President Trump and Mr. Biden in a physical altercation, this sort of hostile rhetoric can be expected to heat up as the mid-term elections approach. And we will have the same thing during the 2020 presidential elections.
The differences now are that we are starting from a level of increased hostility, and we have a president who is anything but a wimp. Will there be more incidents like this? Count on it.
