60k Pennsylvania Democrats Dump Party for Trump

In any other year, the GOP establishment would be over the moon about 60,000 Democrats in a swing state switching to vote for a Republican candidate, but this isn’t any other year — and Donald Trump isn’t any other candidate.

One of the cornerstones of Donald Trump’s candidacy is that he claims he can bring Democrats over to the Republican side.  It appears that in Pennsylvania he did just that.

“The party-switching has been going on in an evolutionary way for two decades. This just propelled it faster,” said Franklin and Marshall University professor G. Terry Madonna. “Many of them are Reagan Democrats – white, working-class, blue-collar, incomes of $35,000 to $40,000 or less, high school educations or less.”

“They feel frustrated, they feel left behind,” Madonna added. “They feel Trump is sticking it to the man.”

Some of the voters that switched said they are fed up with the Democrat Party’s political correctness and that the party no longer speaks for them.

This, of course, is not the first case of Democrats jumping ship onto the Trump Train — to mix metaphors.  We saw a very similar movement in Massachusets earlier this year.  Time will tell if the number of Democrats willing to vote for Trump will outweigh the number of Republicans who say they never will.
