Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

I’m sort of 50/50 on this. Jennette Messenger is right and I agree with her. But, since I’m NOT a thief, I do NOT like being suspected of being one! My main purchases from “Wal-Mart” are die cast car toys and sometimes food. They have very little else that I want!
Facial recognition cameras in walmarts will come in handy when they turn them into designation centers for FEMA so they can process you faster and designate your fait! Re-education or well you get it.
maybe they’re not made in China and will last longer than a week.
ìdk it can be bad but good, for example if a wanted felon walked in and it recognized htem and alerted authorities that would be a very good use for it
Youre an idiot… Why does it have to be something bad? Maybe its to capture better video for when shoplifters are being sought? The video is never quality enough to ID a person. This focuses on critical items. It doesnt say its parsing the internet for anything. Youre a toolbag for trying to coax people into believing its anything else. Again, youre a toolbag.
Facial recognition?? Good, next time the kids want to find themselves, I’ll send them to walmart.
Walmart always had cameras. Did the person who wrote this just crawl out of a rock.
If you don’t want to be seen by a camera, stay at home. You have NO expectation of privacy in a PUBLIC place.
Walmart SUCKS, always has, always will
well that nice and all but they should have removed the inner foam camera protection that comes from the manufacturer
