Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

Haha I have installed these exact cameras at walmarts. These are not the ones you want to worry about. A lot of walmarts that a theft protection operator can control and zoom into the contents of your purse or look at what you are doing in your car in the back of the parking lot. Facial recogonition software isn’t really need for a place like walmart though. If you don’t want to have to worry about facial recogonition don’t do things that will make people want to see your face, cameras are everywhere

And if you don’t plan on committing any terrorist acts, you don’t have to worry about the NSA listening in on your cell phone calls, texts and emails, huh?
What you completely fail to grasp is this – once this is in place, how hard do you think it will be for the government to tap into this system, as well as the data collected?
Had an incident at Lowe’s where a cashier charged me for more lumber than was on the cart. I call Lowe’s expecting a round of arguments over the issue but NO . They have cameras in every part of all their stores. They pulled up good quality video of me going through the register, tying down my load and driving off their property. I actually don’t like the idea but getting my money back was easy. Besides, you never know when your electronic tracking implant might fail. Or when some wild beast who doesn’t have an implant might try to buy ammo at Wal-Mart. On that subject I’ll bet good money they have filmed every one who bought any kind of ammo at their stores.
Similar tech has been in use in Las Vegas for quite a while. Used to identify criminals and those banned from gaming.

Just in case they have a riot there they want to be able to identify the thugs. So they can make excuses for them
I applaud your efforts to try to tell these people the truth but they read something on the internet therefore it is true. You will never convince them that this isn’t logistically or financially reasonable. Plus it just isn’t necessary.
