Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

You mean face level? Where they get a wonderful visual of your face for instances like Crimestoppers? Well, hate to have a criminal get unlucky.
Even Shaquille O’Neal would not come eye-to-eye with the camera mounted on the front of the Walmart in Winfield, Kansas. And there are plenty of signs telling shoppers that cameras are in use.
I have actually installed some of these for ShopKo before. The technology is definitely there and easily saved at central corporate servers (of which I have also seen) The only thing that strikes me funny about THIS picture though, is the installer forgot to take out the pink foam that covers the lens. The software and storage space is no longer highly priced. Just another couple of blades on their servers and they can instantly tell a store in California that a customer just walked in that is banned from stores in New York for shoplifting or whatever. They ALSO $#%&!@*ign your iden$#%&!@*y a number and have cameras that cover the registers and can tell when customer #(whatever#) is using cash or credit, and IF credit they now have a face to your card.
If its true, then its nothing a good can of black spray paint won’t fix for them!

I think it’s great. Catch those shoplifters! The price of their theft is p$#%&!@*ed on to the rest of us. They are no different than the people on the street corner with their f**e words on their cardboard signs trying to get our money and giving nothing to society in return.
Why are people shocked or outraged?? A majority of society’s criminal element frequent Walmart above all else anyways! Lol
i am guessing it is because they bar shoplifters from ever being able to shop there again. they could scan their data base pretty quick and how many door people or those watching the camera could id those who don’t belong. other agencies could possibility add pictures like the most wanted list but i ain’t wanted for anything si i think i’ll just wave and say howdy 🙂
