Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

I worked electronics in the biggest Walmart in Spokane, Wa. We had like three cameras inside. All in electronics. I’m sure there was one in photo too.

Soon as you get a drivers license you go into the Data base. It’s just a way for big brother to track us. They use our cell phones too. Not much new here.

As an installer of these cameras I ca say that this is total c**p. The cameras that are installed in Walmart are analog and are not HD cameras. The documentation that was showed was for an IP camera. Also the cameras are at eye level because Walmart used to use the cameras in the Stanley doors, which is above the doors, but the s**t was poor and would not work if someone was wearing a hat. Next time do some research first the post the story.
