The latest and far from greatest news about Hot Pockets is that their motto, “Better taste. Better quality” just had significant problem due to meat deemed “unfit for human food.”
Hot Pockets may have been made more infamous thanks to Jim Gaffigan’s stand-up, Beyond the Pale, where he quipped, “What was the idea behind Hot Pockets? Was there a marketing meeting somewhere, “Hey I got an idea: How about we take a Pop-Tart and fill it with really nasty meat? You could cook it in a sleeve thing, dunk it in a toilet.”
Nestle is not taking any chances and is implementing a voluntary recall on Philly Steak and Cheese and Croissant Philly Stake and Cheese. They say they did not buy any meat from the Rancho Feeding Corp. directly, but a “small quantity” was processed at a Hot Pockets plant in California.

Boneheads, this recall was made in February of 2014. Rancho meats has been permanently closed for over 2 years now.
