Trump Picks Up Significant Endorsement: Brother of Slain Civil Rights Leader Medgar Evers

Former Mayor Charles Evers said he believes Trump’s experience as a businessman is what is needed. He then addressed the attacks of racism Trump has been subjected too:

In response to allegations that Trump is a racist and that he had actively removed black students from one of his recent rallies, Evers said, “I haven’t seen any proof of him being a racist.”

“All of us have some racism in us. Even me,” he added.

Evers counts Donald Trump’s strict statements on illegal immigration among the key reasons for his endorsement.

Evers said he will be in attendance at Donald Trump’s rally on Monday in Madison, Mississippi. The 93-year-old wants to talk to Trump about bringing a catfish processing plant to Mississippi.

“Our catfish is shipped to China and brought back for us to buy. Put a catfish farm here,” Evers said.

Charles Evers, 93, is the brother of famed civil rights activist Medgar Evers who was assassinated in 1963.
