Trump Abates NATO: ‘I want to get along with Russia’

NATO and the United Nations do not get grand applause from Trump.  Both institutions are keeping America from being great again and Trump is willing to make a stand against both.

We certainly can’t afford to do this anymore,” Trump said, later adding, “NATO is costing us a fortune, and yes, we’re protecting Europe with NATO, but we’re spending a lot of money.”

He also had some tough words for NATO’s European members regarding the conflict in Ukraine.

“Ukraine is a country that affects us far less than it affects other countries in NATO, and yet we’re doing all of the lifting,” Trump said. “Why is it that Germany’s not dealing with NATO on Ukraine? Why is it that other countries that are in the vicinity of Ukraine, why aren’t they dealing? Why are we always the one that’s leading, potentially the Third World War with Russia.”

As for the U.N., Trump was transparent about his dislike for the organization.

Once a fan, not always a fan, is what Trump is saying now about the United Nations, at an American Israel Political Affairs Committee this past Monday.  He railed against the U.N. and their “utter weakness and incompetence”, reported Truth and Action.

“The United Nations is not a friend of democracy,” said Trump at the American Israel Political Affairs Committee on Monday.  He continued by saying this about the UN, “It’s not a friend to freedom. It’s not a friend even to the United States of America, where as all know, it has its home.  And it surely isn’t a friend to Israel.”

The Washington establishment is also reeling in shock over Trump’s views on military deployments around the world.  “I think we were a very powerful, very wealthy country, and we are a poor country now. We’re a debtor nation.”  His philosophy is represented by his concern for wise spending, getting other nations to fight their own turf wars on their own dollar and getting along with everyone.  Trump believes that “under his leadership, the US would do better in the world.”

As for his foreign policy team, Trump has asked Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions to lead it.  Other advisors are retired General J. Keith Kellogg, Walid Phares, George Papadopoulos, Carter Page, and Joseph E. Schmitz.
