Rafael Mandelman has priorities as well. The homeless are out of control, vehicular deaths are sharply rising, drug abuse is rampant, human waste on the streets where maps are issued to tourists so they can avoid stepping in the feces and discarded hypodermic needles, assault, arson, burglary and car theft are running wild and what does Supervisor Mandelman choose to focus on?
As the city prepares to celebrate San Francisco Pride this weekend, the Board of Supervisors unanimously passed an ordinance Tuesday authored by Supervisor Rafael Mandelman to create the Castro LGBTQ Cultural District, bringing additional funding and resources to one of the country’s most important LGBTQ neighborhoods.”
The Castro LGBTQ Cultural District will join the list of other recognized Cultural Districts including the Compton’s Transgender Cultural District in the Tenderloin and Leather LGBTQ Cultural District in SoMa. In November of 2018, San Francisco voters approved Proposition E, reallocating a portion of hotel tax revenues for arts and cultural purposes including Cultural Districts.

She is also a big advocate of the New York City style “universal pre-school” institution and hopes to push the “tri-lingual” system in every school.
Create a universal preschool program by following the example of New York and other cities around the world, and adding public preschool to our K-12 system.
Create a trilingual school system that helps all San Francisco school children become proficient in our city’s three major languages: Spanish, Chinese and English.

Shamann Walton is another RCV vote winner who completely decimated his opponents through this system of voting. Ahsha Safai is four-square against any immigration plan to stem the tide of people entering this country from foreign countries that specifically endorse terrorism abroad. When Donald Trump introduced legislation to block certain countries with terror ties from having access to travel to the US, Safai immediately set about writing legislation rejecting it and calling it a “Muslin ban.”
District 11 Supervisor Ahsha Safai announced his intention to introduce a resolution opposing President Trump’s Muslim ban at Tuesday’s board meeting.
Safai’s resolution is backed by Mayor Ed Lee and comes at a time when hundreds have rallied against President Trump’s immigration ban on refugees, migrants and foreign nationals from entering the U.S.
“Despite what Donald Trump says despite what the Federal Government says this is a Muslim ban,” Safai said.
