Sen. Flake and Mayor Giles on Hot Mic About Trump: “What an Idiot This Guy Is”

Jeff Flake, senator from Arizona and counterpart to John McCain, that powerful icon of indecision, waffling, hypocrisy and lies, has bowed to the will of the people who have decided that he no longer serves their interests.  When the Flake’s approval ratings and election hopes started tanking, instead of admitting defeat and quietly disappearing into the Arizona sunset, he opted to pull a Hillary Clinton and blame someone else.

In an effort to appear as if he was “fed up” with Washington because of Donald Trump’s arrival (that’s almost hilarious), he claimed that the way things were going for the GOP were what prompted him to not seek reelection.  It had nothing to do, of course, with the fact that he didn’t have a virtuous politician’s chance in Congress to pull off the victory.  But that’s just splitting hairs.  If he says that it was because he was fed up with Trump, then I guess we’ll just accept that.

Recently, at a Tax Reform event in Mesa, Arizona, the Flake appeared with his buddy, John Giles, who is the mayor of that town.  How do I know they’re buddies?  Let’s listen in on their hot mic conversation that they didn’t know was listening!

Flake, R-Ariz., was at a tax reform event in Mesa, Arizona on Friday night when he was caught bashing the president in a conversation with friend, Mesa Mayor John Giles.

“If we become the party of Roy Moore and Donald Trump, we are toast,” Flake was caught saying by ABC affiliate KNXV.

Trump is a frequent opponent for Flake, who announced last month he would not seek re-election in 2018 in a fiery speech condemning the president from the floor of the Senate.

Flake’s criticism of Trump and the GOP weren’t the only interesting comments to be caught on the live mic Friday night.

Giles was caught appearing to encourage Flake to run for president in 2020.

“I am not throwing smoke at you, but you are the guy — just for fun, think about how much fun it would be — just to be the foil, you know, and point out what an idiot this guy is,” Giles said, apparently referring to Trump. “Anyway, I hope you do it.”

Giles, who is a moderate Republican like Flake, has been mayor of Mesa since 2014.

As you can see, Giles was completely ingratiating himself to the senator, “You da man!”  “No, you da man!”  For Giles to call Trump an idiot is rich, though.  A mayor from Mesa who is not in line at all with his party’s voters, who will never be able to win an election outside of mayor…or perhaps state dog catcher…is calling Trump (and by extension, his voters) an idiot!  You gotta love the cajones on this one.

This is the same Giles who in 2014 was perpetuating the great Leftist lie that the only way that the Republican Party could win an election is if they completely knelt at the feet of the monolithic Hispanic voting bloc and worshipped amnesty!

“In the end we might look back on 1070 and see it as a net positive,” says Giles, Mesa’s mayor. “It woke us up to being more sensitive to the Hispanic population. It woke the Hispanic population up to the idea that they need to be engaged politically or they’re going to get run over.”

“1070” refers to Senate Bill (SB) 1070 that was passed in Arizona in 2010 which was hailed by Tea Partiers and true Conservatives as a great way to circumvent the federal government which was pretty much refusing to enforce immigration laws under the Obama administration.  It was called in nearly all Fake News Industrial Complex stories an “anti-illegal immigration bill” and criticized as a Nazi-esque return to 1930s Germany.  The frequent call of “show us your papers” appeared in nearly all of the articles about this senate bill, despite the fact that its language was nearly identical to the already-on-the-books immigration laws at the federal level.

Giles was one of many in 2014 who was claiming that Mitt Romney lost the election in 2012 because we didn’t have the Hispanic vote.  Of course, as proven by the election of Donald Trump, that was demonstrably false.

The Flake is about as relevant anymore as global warming and no matter how many times the Left and the Swamp RINOs say so, the sole reason of the election of Donald Trump can be laid directly at the feet of these two groups, because they showed America what it really means to be an “idiot.”
