For Americans who support law enforcement and trust them to safeguard both their liberties and their well-being, it is disheartening to hear officers say that the way to protect the latter is by curtailing the former.
San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia is one such officer, as he revealed in an interview with San Jose Inside. Asked about the topics of the day, Garcia not only expressed support for the controversial Black Lives Matter movement, but also voiced opposition to laws allowing Americans to own firearms for their protection.
As one might be wont to point out, a majority of law enforcement officers believe that Americans should retain the right to bear arms, meaning that Garcia is clearly in the minority on the issue. However, his position as chief of police for the 10th largest city in the country means that his opinion will carry weight among the uninformed and be cited by liberals as support for their anti-gun agenda.

If you took all the guns you still would have murders. Many terrorist now are using cars. So get real about the problem. Besides some of the democratic controlled no gun zone area’s have the highest murder rates in the states. So real facts do not support this officers ideals.
This is the same chief that restrained his officers from arresting roving gangs of MS13 for attacking white people.

Guns are NOT the problem. Having access to guns actually has very little to do with the “death rate.”
All this fuss about gun control that will not do one thing to stop the killings. If the libs and dems had their wildest dreams fulfilled, the total elimination of all guns, of all types, and none could ever be brought into the country, and none could be built, by gun manufacturers, or by individuals, anywhere in the country, in other words, not one gun left in the entire country. Then the “actual” death rate would only drop at MOST by 4,000.
All this fuss, getting rid of hundreds of millions of guns, and taking away our entire 2nd Amendment, would do almost nothing to stop the killings.
The reason is simple: What if there were NO GUNS?
In the USA, roughly 32,000 deaths a year are due to guns.
Actually this is a FALSE statement, guns are NOT the CAUSE. We should be attacking the CAUSE of the problem, not the METHOD used. For you liberals and politicians out there, the gun is the METHOD, not the CAUSE.
The main reasons for the gun deaths: 60% Suicides, 33% homicides (80% gang related), 4% justified, and 3% accidents.
If there were NO GUNS, the number of suicides would be virtually unchanged. People don’t commit suicide, or murder just BECAUSE there are guns. Also, the number of homicides would only decrease by 6 to 12%, if at all.
If there were NO GUNS, deaths would only decrease by 1,920 to 3,840. So why all the fuss?
Gun control focuses on law-abiding citizens. Background checks don’t predict future behaviour. Anti-gun signs are a joke.
Blaming guns for the crime problem is exactly like blaming forks for the obesity problem.
Johns Hopkins patient safety experts have calculated that more than 250,000 deaths per year are due to medical error in the U.S. Why not focus on that, drunk driving, or something that would really save lives?
If you had a million dollars, would you rather spend it on something that saved one life, or something that saved a hundred lives?
Gun control is supposed to be about saving lives, but it isn’t. It’s really about “control.”
