Rand Paul is completely correct, of course, that there is no need for bayonets in local law enforcement. Bayonets are for hand-to-hand combat in battle and the only purpose is to kill.

The police here in the St. Louis area need bayonets so that they can kill the rioters who are all set to start up again once the results of the grand jury investigation into the shooting death of Michael Brown are released. And that should happen some time next week if you can believe the news.
The police need as much help/equipment as they can get
but when will they be needed for & IF ISIS crossed our borders. we do have bad guys right here
