Rand Paul is completely correct, of course, that there is no need for bayonets in local law enforcement. Bayonets are for hand-to-hand combat in battle and the only purpose is to kill.

15 yrs in LE, not once have I seen a bayonet.
This is bull$#%&!@*. I don’t know of any local agencies with bayonets. Maybe the feds have them. But not city cops or county sheriff’s. If there is a revolution, the city cops would be right there with you fighting anybody who tries to destroy our constitution. I know I will be.
