Nancy Pelosi briefly showed signs of intelligence earlier this month — but it didn't last long.
Previous to this week's about-face, Pelosi claimed that impeaching Donald Trump was unlikely and dangerous. She claimed that Democrats calling for the trial didn't have facts and that, by perpetuating the talks, they were ” just participating in more hearsay.”
This isn't said often, but in that circumstance, Pelosi was right. But she didn't stay right for long.
This week, she fell back in line with her party's extremist wing, claiming that Donald Trump is, indeed, heading toward impeachment. This new stance puts Pelosi in agreement with Representatives Maxine Waters and Brad Sherman. The former has vowed to impeach Trump and latter has actually started the process.
