Obama’s Scheme to Employ Military Force Against Americans At Home

In effect, the directive provides a means by which the executive branch can direct the full force of the military forces of the United States against its own citizens, and can do so legally. Under this directive, military “assistance” can be rendered “to prevent significant loss of life or wanton destruction of property…necessary to restore governmental function and public order.” Another broad case where the President can decide to exercise military force within U.S. borders is when local, state, or federal authorities “are unable or decline to provide adequate protection for federal property or federal governmental functions.”

swatIt’s true that this military assistance can take the form of loans of vehicles, arms, ammunition used to engage citizens during times of “unrest,” but it is also possible for Directive 3025.18 to endorse direct use of military force in situations involving questions of land use or outstanding government fees. Basically, the limits of the directive are so broad that the President can use the federal military to achieve by force just about any domestic goal he wishes. For example, non-security agencies throughout the federal government have begun creating their own SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) teams. Government officials report that in 2014 the Obama regime entertained the option of deploying military force to confront Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy over an isolated conflict over unpaid grazing fees.

At least the directive limits the use of armed drones against domestic targets, although it specifically approves unarmed drones to be deployed by order of the Secretary of Defense.

Perhaps the most frighteningly offensive aspect of the support for Directive 3025.18 is the assumption that the public should welcome this expansion of executive branch powers which are already governed by the Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act. Just because the Directive could be used in a beneficial manner doesn’t mean Americans should tolerate all of the nefarious acts the Directive permits. As usual, the Obama administration hopes we’ll have the impression that the government always has our best interests at heart, despite their pathological habit of misleading and lying to the public.
