In his weekly address President Obama announced that while the global community was sure to win the war on terror, it is necessary to add a new weapon to the fight. Could it be that we will teach members of ISIL how to do a snappy tango along with free bumper stickers that read: “terror no; tango si?”
No, the new weapon is leading by example, which is different from not leading by example that characterizes Obama’s foreign policy.
Obama urged Americans to lead by example concerning immigration policy by being more open to refugees.
Our openness to refugees fleeing ISIL’s violence, our determination to win the battle against ISIL’s hateful and violent propaganda, a distorted view of Islam that aims to radicalize young Muslims to their cause.
But “who’s going to live with the consequences of that?” Tucker Carlson asked on Fox and Friends Weekend, noting that the president has a relatively comfortable life ahead of him after finishing his term. “He’ll never face the consequences of this, and yet the rest of us will.”
Once again, Obama goes to the familiar theme that America is the problem that should be blamed for terrorism and everything else that our enemies think and do.
Openness to refugees will set an example, alright. When there is another 9/11 in New York or Washington, D.C., other nations will know with certainty that an open-door refugee policy that cannot distinguish the terrorists that want to kill us from non-terrorists fleeing from war is the height of foolishness or insanity, take your pick.
