This week, Donald Trump announced that his administration would not release any more prisoners from Guantanamo Bay. In fact, he has vowed to refill the prison with “some bad dudes.”But now it looks like Trump might need to find more “bad dudes” than he anticipated. In the last few weeks of his presidency, Barack Obama ordered several detainees to be removed from the Cuba detention facility.
The pending transition is so large, the Daily Mail has dubbed it a “mass transfer” of prisoners.
Obama has a history of transferring dangerous criminals from Guantanamo. He recently released a man said to be in possession of uranium and stinger missiles. The latest group of prisoners is apparently no less dangerous — and they're headed to countries where they might be able to regroup with their terrorist counterparts.
