Barack Obama is once again circumventing the legislative process in order to push his administration’s unpopular leftist agenda. First, it was illegal immigration, then transgender bathrooms. This time, it’s guns.
Earlier this year, the White House announced new policies for those receiving social security benefits in conjunction with the president’s January 5th executive order on gun ownership. When it was released, few seemed to notice that the order allowed the administration to withhold Second Amendment rights from those who collect social security.
The move makes little logical sense. Social Security beneficiaries have never proven themselves as particularly violent or incapable of gun ownership. Instead, it seems as if this is part of Obama’s larger plan to slowly and surreptitiously restrict gun ownership whenever and wherever possible.
The administration was likely hoping that this slow creep of new regulations would go unnoticed until it was too late to be repealed. Fortunately, the watchful eyes of conservative media caught them in the act.

If you folks would actually read the words that are written and ask for help understanding them, you might realize that the headline is hyperbole and that the actual E.O. is reasonable. I suggest that you put your NRA/Reader’s Digest, abbreviated version of the Constitution down for 30 minutes. If you have time left over, you might practice breathing through your nose.

Get information from the Social Security Administration on mental health issues for the purpose of disqualifying some people from owning a gun. Net effect: this is DANGEROUS, as it can strip people of their right to own a gun WITHOUT DUE PROCESS. A very tiny minority of those with mental health issues are dangerous. Just because you let someone else balance your checkbook doesn’t mean you should not be able to own a gun, but that’s what Obama is doing. Obama is casting a huge net for the purpose of catching what actually boils down to a handful of people.
Change HIPAA laws to allow states to share “certain” information from a person’s health records. Net effect: this is DANGEROUS, as it can strip people of the right to own a gun WITHOUT DUE PROCESS. No cookie cutter, bureaucratically controlled, examination of a person’s medical records should be used to strip someone of any of their rights without DUE PROCESS!
Supposedly Social Security is a voluntary program …. B******t …. It is a forced program with no guarantee of future payments. How can Gus Restrictions on SS Recipients be justified … They won’t resist or they don’t get their payments??? Obama is pushing for a large civil disobedience from this group of people that have paid into system all their lives!!!

You sir are a fool if you believe that. Just as he has gone after veterans using the VA system he is doing the same to SSI recipients. Any little item that he can misconstrue as a mental disability is being used to seize citizens guns without due process. It is happening now. So better never go to a therapist to get through the grief of losing a child or spouse because you’ll be labeled mentally unfit.
