Did you know that there is a “1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act?” Probably not, but then when one considers the volume of legislation created just at the federal level — legislation that remains in force, the normal reaction would be one of astonishment, of being utterly overwhelmed, of one’s eyes just glazing over. No wonder congressmen and senators have no idea what they’re voting on much of the time.
Anyway, apparently we have a crisis of excess horses and burrows running wild in western states. Enter the Bureau of Land Management and a dispute they have with the Humane Society of the United States.
Here’s the crisis in a nutshell for your consideration.

Feed them to the homeless! Jk, train them to hunt down and kill Isis
The BLM is about ready to kill off 45,000 horses and we are talking about selling them? How bout giving them away. Funny how BLM has them “protected” in the wild where you aren’t even supposed to disturb them, then when they get out of control, they just decide it’s best to just kill them off.
It’s the government, ‘giving away’ does not usually compute.
They just want the land to factory farm. The indigenous people are the only ones from here. So Matthew Jackson maybe you’d be ok with being put down?
Actually scientific evidence supports horses as a native species. One thought that They may have been “introduced” by man, but scientific evidence suggests that they are genetically the same as the horses that became “extinct” on the continent between 11,000 and 13,000 years. Suggesting that the horses are probably the same but have simply adapted to a less harsh environment than thier ice age counterparts. Also a pack of wolves can take out a bull moose they are more than capable of taking down a horse.
Death is essential part of balance. Killing them is not.
Yeah, so’s a dingo Anna but still not what we’re talking about. You’re “special” aren’t you?
while this is true about wolves. you forget that most of all the wolves were killed off to keep livestock safe and in most area’s of the US there are very few to no wolves at all. With horses being re-introduced means “not” native.
They aren’t over grazing the land thats just what the BLM tells you….if there is no food left why do they want to put cattle on it! SMH
