Did you know that there is a “1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act?” Probably not, but then when one considers the volume of legislation created just at the federal level — legislation that remains in force, the normal reaction would be one of astonishment, of being utterly overwhelmed, of one’s eyes just glazing over. No wonder congressmen and senators have no idea what they’re voting on much of the time.
Anyway, apparently we have a crisis of excess horses and burrows running wild in western states. Enter the Bureau of Land Management and a dispute they have with the Humane Society of the United States.
Here’s the crisis in a nutshell for your consideration.
Why ? Leave them alone you piece of c**p no good illegal
Could at least try to sell them to other countries
Obama wants to tear down all vestige of America the horses are a target for hate
They aren’t now.
The slaughter of these horses is only the last of the horrors. Research where they’re kept while in “holding”, how they’re transported, what kind of injuries they sustained during round up, that haven’t been treated. The list goes on and on. I don’t have an answer but I do think slaughter houses are a necessary evil. However, I believe that transport, housing and treatment on the way should be monitored to the highest degree! Research slaughter houses. They should be monitored. There is no reason the entire process has to be as horrible as it is. Make people accountable for treatment of animals.
