Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”

Most of the flood problems could have been avoided in the lower states( Lousiana, during Katrina) if the taxpayers funds that had been gleaned, were appropriated correctly, and applied to flood control. What is voted for isn’t (most commonly) spent on what you voted for. Hold who you voted for, accountable! Then don’t make the same mistake to vote on partisan line. If you can vote outside the box just once, and then the same issues happen again, then perhaps we as a “collective” nation should be as equally responsible to fight(as our soldiers vow too) any foe, BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC. I pray to God, He gives me the willingness to see THIS through.
