Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

Ha ha, $#%&!@*’em
Right?, lol
Ok so I realize it’s Jerry Brown as governor of California, but having lived in the Middle East where water is scarce and is bordered by the Red Sea the Saudi gov built a de- salination plant to purify water for drinking. My question is why hasn’t this idea ever been discussed in Ca where the problems only persist and repeat themselves? What financial loss amount will the state have to bear, and tax the national budget for help before they realize they have a solve able problem?
Oh and higher prices to consumers for fewer fruits and veggies are one other part of this story
They need to repent unto God for their immoral liberal behavior and cry out for God’s mercy!
This is what the Republicans are about, helping their donors………..not the American people!!
California has more pressing problems like f*g inequality. Let the state burn they are the stupidest people on earth
Now went should other states have to supply water to Californians for creating their own problem?
What happened to all the water California ordered off limits to save a snail or some inconsequential (compared to man) aquatic animal a few years ago…they still doing that? If so, maybe someone needs to tell CA that man is more important than some fish.
This is what thirty years of radical environmental leadership gets you. Enjoy!
