Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

Dying from thirst and they live next to the largest body of water in the world. Only a democratic state could do this.

Our outstanding government leadership will find a way to tax their way thru this
This will contribute to it’s sliding off into the ocean, along w/numerous sinkholes if they have limestone!
Um. Bobby, I think you’re responding to the wrong post. I think you have almost as much platinum blonde in your beard as I do.
Their back up plan will have lake Michigan looking the same way in about 20 years!
They don’t take baths anyway
I agree we should clean the planet and have clean renewable energy. The Earth can self heal as it has in ages past. The polar ice caps have always melted and then re-emerged. It’s a climate cycle and it’s nothing to fear. Just look at NASA images over the years. The caps will melt and then grow back when it gets cold.
What global warming alarmists do is show footage of the ice melting on some unknown glacier and some lonely polar bear on a floating ice berg to tug your heart strings. What they don’t show is the ice thickening back or the polar bear swimming to the next floating ice berg and then back on the mainland because that’s what they like to do in their habitat. According to an article published this past December, the polar bear population is increasing in number rather than decreasing.
