The Obama administration has directed the military to not allow personnel to say “Christmas”, in spite of the holiday’s status as a federally-recognized holiday.
The reason given by armed forces officials is that not everyone celebrates Christmas and that out of respect for them, military members should refer to Christmas celebrations simply as “holiday”-themed festivities.
This prohibition comes in the context of a wider push for political correctness in society in general and the military in particular, as evidenced by the recent reprimanding of Navy Chaplain Wes Modder for simply discussing religion, as chaplains are wont to do, with military personnel.
See how servicemen have reacted to not being allowed to say Christmas at the link below:

Barbara Borrelli Amen! The military, more than anyone, knows they may take their last breath at any moment. How great if the last thing they were saying was prayer to God in Jesus sweet name. I dare the POTUS to stand in the line of fire without uttering the name of whatever God he believes in.
It is Christmas, not anything else. It is a Christian Holiday to celebrate the birth of our savior. No other group can claim it, They should just keep saying it. He has no right to say they can’t say something. Freedom of Speech is still in effect as far as I know right now. The Constitution is the Law of the Land, period!!!
So, the Christmas holiday offends some people? Well, Ramadan offends me. But, being the good Christian that I am, I don’t make people around me not mention it. What happened to freedom of speech?
Merry Christmas and God Bless to our awesome brave troops!!!
