Assistant chief of police, Anita Najiy, created a bone of contention between the Miami Police Department and the Fraternal Order of Police President, Javier Ortiz, after she refused to hold her hand over her heart for the Pledge of Allegiance during a recent promotional ceremony.
Ortiz became livid in seeing Najiy refuse to honor the Pledge, stating that she failed to exhibit courtesy and etiquette that “must be exercised when wearing a law enforcement uniform.”
“If you’re not pledging allegiance to the United States, my question is what country are you pledging allegiance to?” Ortiz asks. “Anyone who isn’t offended by that is not American, because when you become a U.S. citizen, you pledge allegiance to the US.”
Ortiz also states that Najiy’s disrepect comes from her Muslim belief, but that normal “protections” or exemptions generally given in the name of religious freedom and speech doesn´t apply to those in police uniform because “you’re supposed to be neutral.”
MOVE TO PAGE 2:

This liberal idea that everything is ok…disrespect your country if you like has been the decline in this country over the past decade. The lack of respect on college campuses and in society in general is amazing. Liberals seem to forget that while their pansy as**es sit at home many in our military have fought and died for their freedoms in this country…..then they want to desecrate and disrespect the flag every chance they get and call it a “right”…. Well fine but it’s my right to call them all a**holes too…
Fire his Muslim butt
Yes and that FREEDOM means that people have freedom of speech and are free to disagree. She is well within her rights not to put her hand on her chest. She stood at attention…she faced the flag..and she has given the citizens of Miami 32 years of service…..
Fire Her !
Where was the disrespect? She stood at attention and faced the flag…
It says to GOD not Jesus in the pledge. When a Muslim is calling to Allah he is calling to God. Why would you deny calling to God. Even if you are an atheist it shouldn’t bother you because as my father used to say if there is a God then he will forgive me and if there isn’t them I am calling upon nothing. My father vacillated between agnostic and atheist through out my life. If he will not pledge he should not have a job.
under god is the issue for me. I will not swear on a bible because i do not believe in god. I love my country i will stand however i will not put my hand on my heart or recite the pledge. this makes me no less american then anyone else. and i thought we had freedom of choice? and why even care, the country and world are going to $#%&!@* and this is a issue? SMH,
And yet the original pledge said nothing about god….god was never intended to be included in the pledge.
They are using our cons$#%&!@*ution against us and why no one see’s it is beyond me
they should fire his buy
