Assistant chief of police, Anita Najiy, created a bone of contention between the Miami Police Department and the Fraternal Order of Police President, Javier Ortiz, after she refused to hold her hand over her heart for the Pledge of Allegiance during a recent promotional ceremony.
Ortiz became livid in seeing Najiy refuse to honor the Pledge, stating that she failed to exhibit courtesy and etiquette that “must be exercised when wearing a law enforcement uniform.”
“If you’re not pledging allegiance to the United States, my question is what country are you pledging allegiance to?” Ortiz asks. “Anyone who isn’t offended by that is not American, because when you become a U.S. citizen, you pledge allegiance to the US.”
Ortiz also states that Najiy’s disrepect comes from her Muslim belief, but that normal “protections” or exemptions generally given in the name of religious freedom and speech doesn´t apply to those in police uniform because “you’re supposed to be neutral.”

She is an American Citizen that has lived in this country longer than you have, and has protected and served the people of Miami for 32 years. She doesn’t need to get out of “your country”. She is well within her 1st Amendment rights to choose not to put her hand on her chest for the pledge….which is all she did.
The pledge of allegiance : The part that says ” and justice for all ” is a lie. I had to say this in grade school just about ever morning before cl$#%&!@* started. Then I got older and found out this part is a lie. Still feel and think she ought to fired.
But where is her heart, Don? Where is her allegiance?
So you saying it is okay to not serve and protect this country like she is taken a oath to do ??and that includes the flag and the people ??and how do you know if she was born in this country ???they Found out Obama never was his brith certificate was f**e ..and i was born and raised in america and i am 43 year old and will be 44 in july ..i am tiered of i would say it but i am not ..of people who is trying to destroy American and telling us that if we do not renowned our religion and start worshipping a false God that we will be beheaded ..and she and like the others who are taking the job to serve and protect not just the people but the flag and the cons$#%&!@*ution too are turning their backs on that and doing wrong to all of it .

Where is her heart? She is an American Citizen…and she has served the people for 3 decades. Sounds like her allegiance is to the citizens of Miami.
Because the internet lets you find such things. She was born in Miami in 1950.

If her heart and allegiance is with American and the American people in miami then why is she not taking the pledge of allegiance to th flag of America and the people anymore ?? She had to take that pledge when she got to become a officer of the law before just like Obama and the others but it all was not true they all lied ..to get into the places they are t now ..Obama told every body he was a Christian and born in America but to find out he was never born in America and he wasn’t a christian but a muslim he lied to everybody about a change for the good for the American people but it wasn’t when he brings illegals into America and he let free 6 dangerous terrorist…and he steals millioms from the American people and gives to the terrorist and the illegals ?!
