The idea of celebrities dabbling in politics is a frightening one. The human mind is fragile, most seek things like books and films to escape their dismal realities or the idea of thinking about anything outside of themselves. Because of this, there’s an overwhelming tendency to adopt the beliefs of others. At least that’s what’s been demonstrated by millennials over the course of the past two years. And despite what they might have you believe, it doesn’t prove that America is full of hate. It probes that America is full of lazy people who would rather have a celebrity think for them rather then do the thinking themselves. This is why Meryl Streep is being praised by the left. She’s just another talking head.
What qualifies an actor or a musician to make political statements? Absolutely nothing. A musician is somebody who whines for a living to the tune of a guitar. Yes, some of them do it well and beautifully, but most songs are full complaints or whining. Then there’s actors and television personalities. They get paid to pretend to be other people and commentate on things. None of them have degrees in history or law. They’re about as qualified to make political claims as a football player is join the NHL and lead a team to a Stanley Cup victory.
Back to Meryl Streep . . . it would seem that after her uniformed comments at the Gold Globes, she’s doubled down on her opinions of Donald Trump. However, check out her speech on the next page. Not only is she ignorant, but she’s a monument to her own vanity.

Ella Jernigan It always makes me laugh when people say things like, if you aren’t an American Indian then you are an immigrant. First, the natives “discovered” by European explorers in the 1400’s a.) MIGRATED HERE FROM SOMEWHERE TOO, b.) WERE NOT AMERICAN…The United States of America did not become an established country until the late 1700’s. NO ONE LIVING HERE PRIOR TO THEN WAS CONSIDERED AN AMERICAN. Second, once this country was established, rules and laws were written and constituted…these laws and rules pertained to those living in the United States of America and to those who wished to come here to live. a.) President Trump and his supporters are not against IMMIGRATION; but we are against undocumented individuals who have entered our country without going through the legal, proper channels. b.) There are several laws and rules that allow for people to become citizens of the United States of America. We very simply just desire for people to live by the rules. c.) Do you have locks on your doors and windows? I expect that you do; and why is that? Might it be because you are intelligent enough to recognize that not all people are safe and that you want to keep yourself and your loved ones protected from harm? So, you have a stranger come to your house; do you want him to enter your home unannounced, through an upstairs bedroom window? Of course not! No sane person would put his or her loved ones safety in jeopardy by being so “welcoming” to the stranger as to not check him out at the front door first. That is basically what vetting is all about; we want to basically do a background check on these people we do not know, we want to be sure each individual is deemed safe. We do background checks on most US citizens; why would we NOT do one on people we don’t know, who come from countries where the leaders have sworn to hate us, and want to kill us? US Citizens have documentation showing ourselves as legal citizens; why should non- citizens be allowed to enjoy the privileges of this great country without having to also take on the responsibilities of a citizen? Would you take food from your children or your parents in order to feed the person down the street? Would you let your own family be in harms way, or go without so you can “welcome” a stranger? I would not. Now, I would and have certainly shared what I have; but I’m not going to share with the thief or robber who sneaks into my home. I’ll freely SHARE with the one who knocks on my door and is honest, open, who needs help, who wants to FOLLOW THE RULES OF MY HOUSE. Absolutely…
