Common decency dictates that you leave the president’s wife and kids out of the political battles. That is, unless, his wife decides to assume a policy-making position and jumps into the political debate, as Hillary Clinton did during her husband’s presidency. At this point, Melania Trump has done no such thing and should be left alone. And to take swipes at Donald’s and Melania’s ten year-old son is completely unacceptable. When a blogger called her a “high-end escort” she sued, and has won the first round in the court case.
Having endured enough already, Melania Trump is taking actions to fight back against the verbal attacks. And well she should. She has done nothing to deserve such abuse. It is a measure of the left’s unremitting hatred of her husband that they would let their vindictive spill over on Mrs. Trump and Barron.

White House insiders say that the first lady is close to finalizing her team to manage these attacks. Sources close to the administration exclusively tell Page Six former Vogue staffer and Met Ball organizer Stephanie Winston Wolkoff — who also masterminded Trump’s inauguration events with Tom Barrack — is being tapped as Melania’s chief strategist and is helping interview and select candidates for the first lady’s chief of staff, communications chief and social secretary.
It would be nice if those on the left who have been vocal in their attacks on President Trump’s family would take a good hard look at themselves, and realize how desperate that makes them look. It is out of line. As unhappy as the left is with much of what Mr. Trump stands for and is doing, you would think that would keep them busy enough without wasting their time attacking his wife and other family members.
Mrs. Trump is well within her rights to assemble a team to refute such uncalled-for remarks. Let’s hope her team is incredibly successful in doing so.
