Caving in to outcries that they represent the South’s racist past, Greg Fenves, the president of the University of Texas in Austin, announced on Thursday that the statue of Jefferson Davis will be removed from the campus’s Main Mall and moved to the school’s Dolph Briscoe Center for American History.
The statue of Woodrow Wilson was moved as well to “maintain symmetry on the mall.”

This is getting out of hand people complained about Christian praying in schools so they stopped thats what took its place Muslim demanding prayer time, our constitutional rights is constantly under attack and whats taking its place shaira law is actually being considered in some states now statues are being taken down for some stupid reason regardless its american history our culture what will be next

Yasmine Smrekar Actually the Traitor was Lincoln. If Jefferson Davis had been allowed to get the case for succession into court – this would have been a far different and better off country and millions on both sides would have lived through the 1860s.
As for Slavery we are the only country that ended it in such a brutal way. There was absolutely no need for this war.
slavery was indeed a dark part of our nation’s otherwise proud history. but even though it was painful it still happened. the statues that are being removed are part of that history. if they are gone, then you are saying that the painful part of american history never happened. where is the proof? you are chained to your own ignorance.
