Caving in to outcries that they represent the South’s racist past, Greg Fenves, the president of the University of Texas in Austin, announced on Thursday that the statue of Jefferson Davis will be removed from the campus’s Main Mall and moved to the school’s Dolph Briscoe Center for American History.
The statue of Woodrow Wilson was moved as well to “maintain symmetry on the mall.”
See video next page:

What a crock. Doubt any of today’s idiots even know who Davis or Wilson was.
Just because you no longer see it doesn’t change History. Go get some books out of a Library and read.
Beth Schatz Merritt There are no statues of him, and that’s called an exception to the rule fallacy, a part of logic. Read a fuckin’ book, racist.
Eugene Pennington Uh yes, Jefferson Davis lead a treasonous war against The USA took keep black people in chains, numbnuts.
Brian Theriot No, it would simply mean we don’t want to celebrate people who put racial minorities into chains.
I get that you do though.
More evidence that liberalism is a mental disorder. Can we please remove all liberals from society, as I find them offensive?
And Yet, you black liberals all celebrate Muslims. And it was Muslims who made those people slaves and shipped them to America. Yet, Black Americans seem to think that is A’OK. Why is that exactly?
Someone once told me, “The past is history, future is a mystery, today is a gift.”. Learn from history and make today a better day. Amen
Jim Dandy That’s a logical error (argument used by morons). Unless you can show us that 51% of slave owners were black your point is moot. 100000s of white folks fought to keep black slaves.
What difference does the percentage make? Blacks in Africa have always sold other blacks into slavery.
James you don’t know what treason is.
Taking down statues and rewriting history books doesn’t change historical events! Our truths, faults, and goodness all need to be embraced in order to move forward in life.
Yes, Southern Conservatives owned slaves, true.
KKK members campaigning for Republican presidential nominee GoldWater.
LAWL. Parties change ideology, but ideology like this ALWAYS follows Conservatives.
